mxogyny diversity & inclusion report 2020-2021
our organisation exists to counteract the barriers faced by so many to access and equality of opportunity in the arts. we are founded on the understanding that individuals – whether because of race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, socioeconomic status or age – are not all on an even footing when it comes to gaining entry-level industry experience in the creative industries. our mission is to build up a community of support and growth, where creatives who experience marginalisation can share their work, hone their talent and find their voice.
given our values and aims, we feel it is only right that we conduct internal monitoring and be transparent about the makeup of our team. we recognise that this is the first step in ensuring that we don’t replicate the same barriers that exist in the creative arts and society more generally. going forward, we plan to make sure our equality and diversity stats inform our recruitment processes and will conduct monitoring on an annual basis.
internal monitoring for this report was carried out by Tatiana Boyle between December 2020 and January 2021. of a total of 24 Mxogyny volunteers, 17 responded to the survey. writing and editing were carried out for this report by Tatiana Boyle, Hrafnkatla Arnarsdottir and Maisie Palmer.
